ROSE childrens bikes – Kindergarten
The history of Rose Cycles dates back to 1955. Arnold Rose, a railroad engineer from a town near Copenhagen, Denmark, was approached by a local nursery school if he could construct a special type of tricycle.
This new type of cycle should be stronger and more durable than the type of cycles available at the time. This was become Europe’s first factory specialising in the manufacture of cycles for day care centers. Eventually Arnold Rose gave up his job at the railroad to devote all of his time to the fast growing cycle business.
As more and more institutions became convinced of the advantages of buying a quality product including the cost savings involved, Arnold Rose soon discovered that existing production facilities were not large enough to meet the growing demand. In 1981 Arnold Rose sold his business to the current owner, Peter Petersen. Since then, business has continued to expand, and Rose products are sold throughout Europe where they are renown for their product motto: quality can never be good enough.
Today, we still strive to improve all aspects of our cycle production. The current product range includes 49 different models, and in the future this will be gradually expanded to include further models built according to customer specifications. Each Rose cycle is a very special product. And that is not just what the children say. The reason for this can be summed up in one simple word: quality. Take us by our word.
Rose cycles are made to stimulate the childs’ fantasy and motoric function, yet are built to last through the wear and tear use of the most demanding consumer group anywhere: children. All wooden seats and foot platforms are made of water resistant Finnish birch plywood. These do not break and protect against splinters because of its high resilience. All wheels (except 8a) are fitted with quality ball bearings. Because years of experience goes into the construction of each Rose Product we know what it takes to construct a cycle designed to withstand the punishment of rugged child use. Tubing thickness employed will vary according to the tensile strength requirements of the different stress points. For example, the front forks feature double wall tubing to avoid bending when the cycle rams a wall or kerbstone. As a result our dedication to quality means maximum safety!
Normally, the handlebars on standard cycles wear down exposing sharp edges to the hands of their users. Rose cycles on the other hand are fitted with welded metal stoppers. As an added precaution, these are also fitted with PVC-free handgrips with extra thick ends for maximum safety. All Rose products are exclusively sprayed with unleaded powder paint which is environmentally safe both during production and later child use.
In spite of all the hard use they are exposed to, Rose cycles are built to last up to 15-20 years of institutional use. Nevertheless pedal, wheels and handgrips will need to be replaced during the life of a cycle. We continually stock spare parts of all models for quick delivery. All Rose cycles conform to rigid CE Standards and have been tested by TÜV Test Institute in Hamburg. It goes without saying that quality is the key to our success. We intend to keep it that way.
